A number of + คำนาม(พหูพจน์) = ประธานพหูพจน์ (plural subject)
เช่น A number of shoes in our factory were exported to European countries.
A number of tourist attractions are renovated.
The number of + คำนาม(พหูพจน์) = ประธานเอกพจน์ (singular subject)
เช่น The number of employees in this company is 550.
The number of seats in this theatre is 1200.
แต่ต้องระวังนิดนึงนะคะ ว่าห้ามใส่คำนามอื่นๆ เข้าไปข้างหลังตัวเลข 550 หรือ 1200 เช่น
The number of employees in this company is 550 people. ×
The number of seats in this theatre is 1200 seats. ×
