The first bar graph illustrates the figure of marriages and divorces of the Americans over the a 30-year period. The others contrasts the percentage of marital status in USA in 1970 and 2000. Overall, the number of married people becomes decreased.
Looking at the first graph, the number of marriages was more than divorces but it declined gradually from 2.5 million to 2 million between 1970 and 2000. The Divorce rate was underwent a minimal increase in the first decade and fell by nearly 0.5 million in the 20 years afterward.
As can be seen, there was a double rise in divorced people (from 1% to 9%). Citizens who never married also went up remarkably by 5%. wWhereas a reduction was noticeable found apparent in the percentage of married status by 10%;.Iin addition, there was a slight decline of 1% in the number of widowed people.
On the whole, there was a decrease in the marriage rate and the percentage of married adults in America while an increase was obvious recorded in the number of divorces.
